A region known for its unforgettable wines, as well as for some of the most typical dishes of Portugal, as the goatling, sausages and sweets. There are about 20,000 hectares of vineyards, mainly distributed by Coimbra, Guarda and Viseu.
This area is protected by groups of mountains on all sides - Serra do Caramulo, Buçaco, Serra da Nave and Serra da Estrela - which create a barrier against humid masses and continental winds. Here you can take advantage of the three main rivers of this region, the Dāo, the Mondego and the Alva, and the big rock masses, for different outdoors activities.
