Rural house on Etna, not far from the sea

The accommodation

This typical rural house was built more than a century ago in a small group of buildings, few steps far from the village.
Comfortable in the sunny days, being made of stones and surrounded by the garden, it has a cozy and fresh courtyard under the shadow of a medlar tree with the view of the sea.
The high ceiling, made of wood and bamboo according to the tradition, keeps the old style rooms fresh.
Ceramics and vintage furniture create an authentic country atmosphere.
The house can host 4 adults in 2 possible configurations
→ 1 double bed + 2 single beds
→ 2 double beds
plus 1 adult or 2 children
→ 1 sofa bed
The old fashioned country style kitchen with wooden furniture includes a service area equiped with electrodomestics.
The bathroom has old fashioned mirror, sink and accessories: a trip into the past, while having a shower.

Setting

Sant'Alfio is on the Etna, an ideal location between mountain and sea, around 550 meters of altitude.
With an amazing landscape and temperatures lower than in other sicilian places it’s perfect for tourists who love country holidays but want to go to the sea too (only 10 kms far).

Activities and attractions

From this house it's very easy to visit the whole eastern Sicily, since it takes short time to go by car to many touristic places, such as Taormina (40') or the crater of the volcano (50').
It's possible to reach the farest places, such as Marzamemi, Ragusa Ibla and Modica just by driving a couple of hours.
