Villa for rent only 500 meters from the beach

We are a family of 4 and decided quite late to spend our summer holidays in Galicia. Only a few weeks before our departure we found this house with its very appealing photos. The contact with the owner was very easy - quick responses and excellent English so our rusty Spanish was not even required. The house itself is very unusual as far as its architecture and the construction materials are concerned. We liked it but later in summer (July/August) it might heat up more than the traditional Galician stone house. The other aspect to be considered is that there is only 1 room which keeps the light out after sunrise. Our twins (aged 2) slept in the other bedroom and usually woke up with the sun (...at the end of June...). Located on the road up to the hills behind Sanxenxo it offers a nice view to the Ria and the town and beaches are within walking distance. The house is well equipped, with a personal touch, not like some other rental properties where you find exactly 6 (cheap) forks, 6 knifes... It makes you feel at home from the first day. Towels are included and you will also find a lot of toys for the little ones, heaps of books and magazines, DVD player, TV... The large fridge always contained some good fresh Galician food & wine during our stay - however, you need to be aware that there is no dishwasher. The garden is large (1000m²) and there is even a small vineyard behind the house. You can blow up a little children swimming pool or harvest some fresh oranges directly from the tree. Due to the high gras and the steep hill don't expect to play football or badminton - but there is space for ~ 2 cars and the garden can be locked. It was our first stay in the Rias Baixas region and we enjoyed it very much. Sanxenxo might not be the most romantic little fishing village but its location and accessibility gives you many options to discover other parts of the region by car - not to forget the dozens of nice beaches you can reach with a short drive. We were there right before the masses came - the town will become quite packed in July/August as far as we have heard.
