The accommodation

Recently reformed apartment, modern and with good natural illumination. It's a minute away walking from Las Canteras beach and next to the Mercado del Puerto, one of the city’s best trendy offerings in gastronomy. It's all well-equipped with modern household appliances, a 90 centimeter bed and a large double sofa bed perfect for couples (1,25 m). You will find all you need for cooking, cleaning and, in general, being comfortable. With an Ethernet cable, Internet speed is around 88 mb/s.
It is highly recommended for couples, digital nomads and business travelers.
Total privacy in the whole apartment is guaranteed.

Setting

The apartment is a minute away walking from Las Canteras Beach. It is in the Port of Las Palmas district, next to the famous neighbourhood called La Isleta. It is well-connected; in front of the apartment there is a bus stop where you can get bus number 12 to go to the commercial street of Mesa y López or to the town’s historical centre.

Near the apartment you have all the services you will need:
- Three supermarkets: a Superdino (Sagasta Street, 100), a Spar (Albareda Street, 84), and a Spar Express (Tenerife Street, 13).
- A pharmacy at Juan Rejón Street, 13, and others very close.
- In Sagasta Street you will find an Internet Café where you can print and, also, buy a bus pass so that the trips become cheaper.

Next to Santa Catalina Park, in the bus interchange, and in the one located next to San Telmo Park, you can get buses to the airport and to other parts of the island, where you can enjoy great beaches, like Maspalomas, beautiful landscapes, aboriginal remains and lovely villages, like Teror.

I recommend these restaurants, all near the apartment: Bochinche los Jamones, Bodegón Biberón, Amigo Camilo and the Mercado del Puerto. For having a drink, you can also go to the Mercado del Puerto or to pubs like Paddy’s Anchor, an Irish one.

How to get to the apartment:

By taxi from the airport: the taxi has to get you to the Mercado del Puerto and you should tell the driver to leave you in the pedestrian crossing that is right before where the Eduardo Benot and the Poet Agustín Millares Sall streets cross (there is a small taxi stop there). The price of the taxi should be around 30 or 40 euros. From that point, you will only have to follow the route that I indicate on the next link.

If you come by car, this is the best way. Please, check the section named “Getting Around” for some helpful parking tips.

You can rent a car directly at the Gran Canaria airport. This link takes you to the companies that offer that service there.

If you are taking the bus, get the greeny-blue one numbered 60 at the airport, since it's the one that makes the journey directly to the city of Las Palmas and, therefore, you will save a lot of time. You have to go until the last stop, Santa Catalina Park. Afterwards, to get out of the bus interchange it will be necessary to take the stairs up to the Plaza de las Islas Canarias. Then, you should follow this route to the building.

You can find below the bus timetables for the greeny-blue bus numbered 60:

Beware that the greeny-blue buses make the trips between cities and towns (the name of the company is Global) and that the yellow ones make them inside the city of Las Palmas (company name is Guaguas Municipales).

If you come between 23:20 and 5:45, you can try to get to the apartment by bus, but I would recommend a taxi. There is not a lot of bus service at late hours. But you could check the timetable of number 1 or number 5 bus of the greeny-blue ones, Global company. Then, you should stop at the Pérez Galdós Theatre and get the bus number L1 (yellow one) to Agustín Millares Sall Street. Then, follow this way.

Here are the timetables of buses number 1, 5 and L1.

If you come by boat, take into account that there are two different companies that offer the service. With one company, Fred Olsen, you’ll land in the port of Agaete. If you don’t have a car, please, when you buy the tickets, mark the option that allows you to get the free transport service to the city of Las Palmas, which takes you to the Santa Catalina Park. From there, just follow this route walking.

If you have a car, follow these indications. Please, check the section named “Directions” for some helpful parking tips.

If you come with the other company, Naviera Armas, if you have a car, follow this way.

If you don’t have a car, remember to say that you want to use the Ferrybus service. From where it leaves you to the apartment, you must follow this way walking.

Activities and attractions

The apartment is situated one minute away walking from Las Canteras beach and from the beginning of the lovely walk that gets to the beach of El Confital. It is even closer to the Mercado del Puerto, a place full of pubs and restaurants ideal to meet friends and where sometimes live music is played. Other interesting places where they organize live concerts are Paddy’s Anchor, Bar San Remo or Asociación Atlas. Also, at only 5 minutes away from the apartment, you can find the Castillo de la Luz, the first fortress ever built in the Canary Islands. Today it is the Martín Chirino Foundation, where they hold part of the work of this famous sculptor from Las Palmas. Very close, at only 10 minutes’ walk, you can find the Santa Catalina Park, a place in which many shows are played including the most important ones of the Carnival. There you can find the Elder Museum of Science and Technology, El Muelle Shopping Center and the new aquarium of Las Palmas, El poema del Mar.

Bad experience

I have been in this flat for my vacations, in the period 12th sep. Till 4th october 2019, i was travelling alone., and i paid about 400 euro.I don’t advice you to stay in this flat, if you want to have a nice journey in las palmas, for the following reasons:the owner is only spanish speaking, not a big deal for me since i know this language, but is a very strange and cold person, and for sure he won’t give you a good welcome, as if you are there to bother him(sigh!).The general quality of the furniture in the flat is very low, if you have some problem inside the apartment don’t think the owner will solve something. It is happened to me with router and wi-fi connection and with the kitchen, i had to call someone and pay him but the owner didn’t give me back money. The bed is a single bed very small and uncomfortable; the mattress is thin and the sheet are in acrylic. The flat is in a very noisy street so if you want to sleep in the afternoon or in the morning until 10 it is impossible,
