Setting

Sever do Vouga is a municipality in the Center of Portugal that is located half an hour away from Aveiro and one hour away from Porto, easily accessible by the A1 and A25. It is recognized by the sumptuousness of its waterfalls and the extraordinary beauty of the landscapes of the Vouga valley, where it is located the famous trail "Ecopista" of Sever do Vouga. As a result of the recovery of the former railway line of the Vouga, Ecopista highlights some of its most valuable legacies: Poço de Santiago's bridge, former architectonic's bookplate of the municipality; the railway tunnels that give the landscape a unique charm; the station of Paradela, recovered and transformed into a coffee shop; among others.

Sever do Vouga is also a municipality recognized for its valuable archaeological heritage, being considered a truly Open Museum of the Past.

As it was a pioneer in the production of blueberries in Portugal and it is still among the largest national producers of this fruit, Sever do Vouga is considered the "Capital of the Blueberry". As a result, there is an annual event dedicated to it - Blueberry festival - which happens on the last weekend of June.

We also recommend a visit to the village of Amiais, to the dam of Ribeiradio and to the major vista points: Nossa Senhora da Penha, Santa Maria da Serra, Castêlo, Volta da Barca and at Alto do Capela do Barreiro. Many of the sites that you can visit in Sever do Vouga, including some of its waterfalls and panoramas, are important geological sites, revealing stories of the Earth many millions of years ago.

The Quinta Rurban is located in Couto de Baixo, Couto de Esteves on a privileged hillside of the magical mountains, certified as a sustainable tourism destination, next to the Vouga River Valley and its Lordelo and Gresso tributaries.
