In the cozy, over 500 years old, village of Moncarapacho, 3 kms away, you will find a still traditional Algarve. The villa, recently renovated, with traditional Algarve finishes, has 4 suites, all with air conditioning and direct access to the garden, a room with snooker table and ping pong, equipped kitchen, a large outdoor space with pool, barbecue and dining room and private parking for 6 cars. On request, catering service can be arranged, for breakfast, picnic, lunch or dinner.

Setting

The Ria Formosa Natural Park is a true natural sanctuary, situated in a different and genuine Algarve, connected to the sea, the ria and nature. With 60 km of coastline, it starts on the Peninsula of Cacela (Cacela Velha), continues in the barrier islands of Cabanas, Tavira, Armona, Culatra and Deserta (or Barreta) and ends on the Peninsula of Ancão (Quinta do Lago). Here you will find several wild beaches, of fine golden sand and with crystal clear, calm and warm waters, only accessible by Ferry or Aqua-Taxi, where you can easily get away from the crowds. You can also practice various sports such as kite surfing, paddle boarding, windsurfing, fishing, kayaking or taking a boat trip in the ria, between the islands or for dolphin watching.
Inside, the barrocal is characterized by the existence of two geological landmarks, the cerro da cabeça and the cerro de São Miguel, whose surrounding landscape has a high environmental value and where there are a set of walking paths. On the Roman way (PR1) and on the way to St. Michael (PR2) you will visit places where nature reigns in all its splendor, as well as witness some of the traditions that time has failed to erase. If you prefer to walk along the coast you still have the path of the Ria Formosa (PR3).
Don’t forget to visit the cities of Faro, Olhão, Tavira and São Brás de Alportel and the villages of Fuseta, Moncarapacho and Cacela Velha, each with its charms and stories.

Villa Horta do Limão is located in Laranjeiro, 2.5 kms away from Moncarapacho and about 4.0 kms from Fuzeta beach where boats (aquataxis and career boats) depart regularly for the island of Armona. 8 kms away is the town of Olhão and also Tavira where boats also depart regularly for the nearest islands. The international airport is Faro within 22 Km. The Spanish border is 44 kms away.
Access to Horta do Limão can be made to the south by EN 125, traveling about 1.5 km, and north by the A22, making 6.4 km, passing through Moncarapacho.

Activities and attractions

Moncarapacho is a village with about 7000 inhabitants with everything: supermarkets, banks, post office, restaurants and also a daily market. At Moncarapacho square, next to the church, you you can sit down and have a drink or a meal under beautiful palm trees and jacarandas.
Moncarapacho has a great fair on the first Sunday of every month.
For four days, in the summer comes to life with a large agricultural show, with local cuisine, dance and music, and finds everything for sale from baskets of verga to tratores.
Also in February during the "carnival" Moncarapacho comes back to life.
There is also a pottery factory on the edge of the city, which is remarkable.
Walking or cycling to Cerro de São Miguel and Cerro da Cabeça are also a very desirable program for those who like the countryside and mountains. The Algarve ecovia also offers a unique walking or bike ride between the sea and the salt pans.
For those who enjoy marine life the most, 3.0 km away is the Ria Formosa Natural Park, or the Diving Centre in Olhão (about 3.7 km).
Equestrian activities are possible in the village of Quelfes 5 km.
And 5 miles away there are the Golf Courses of Tavira.
