Superb location
The apartment is just as advertised. It's a nice big holiday apartment, with a double & single bed in one bedroom & 2 three -quarter beds in the en-suite bedroom. There are 2 bathrooms one next to the front door containing the washer & the other off the twin bedroom; there are plenty of sheets & towels. There is a dining area with a large table & 6 chairs & a sitting area with a very comfy couch & 2 easy (rocking) chairs, a TV with a 60 channel Spanish satellite system. It is a nice bright apartment and gets afternoon sun on two of the three large balconies, one balcony is off the double bedroom & the other 2 are off the dining & sitting areas. There is a table & 6 chairs on the balcony for alfresco dining or just to sit with a beer, glass of wine or sangria and watch the superb sunsets. The kitchen is separate and more than adequately supplied with pots, pans, glasses etc & a large fridge/freezer. The apartment has magnificent views of both the beach and promenade and north to mountains at the back. The owner is a lovely friendly lady, who does not speak a word of English but this was overcome when we got there with the aid of her daughter’s friend who had lived in England for 12 months. (When booking I translated my request into Spanish with the help of the free Google translations site.) The apartment is in a complex with gardens, swimming pool & 2 tennis courts The property is next to the beach and there are no roads to cross to get to it, ideal for children. There are several supermarkets in the area: Mercadona, Eroski, Supersol, Aldi are a 15 to 20 minute walk. There are lots of other local shops nearby, the bread shop selling superb bread, cakes etc is a very short 1min walk which is very convenient in the morning as is the paper shop, the 24hr chemist & Santander bank with a free cash machine and fish shop are a 3 mins stroll. The bus also stops at the end of the road. There are several bars & restaurants onsite and dozens more within easy walking distance both along the seafront and along the main road next to the bank. It is a short drive to Nerja in one direction and Torre del Mar in the other, the motorway is very close and Gibraltar & Granada are both easy to get to for a day trip. We have just spent a very enjoyable month there and would certainly recommend it to anybody, as it would suit families with children probably up to about 14 years of age, retired couples, newlyweds etc. It is a very quiet place there are no noisy discos and nightclubs.
