The accommodation

The residence "Sasso al Melo", the result of a careful and painstaking work of restoration of an old farmhouse, the first of which dates back to 1600, has as its main vocation to be a "house ethics," since everything is based on an ecological vein and respect for nature: the use of renewable sources, from solar panels to the pellet, such as generators energy and heating, the recovery and reuse of original materials and in any case local (stone and wood), and finally the nature around it is the host, and where the structure is immersed without contrasts and in its full compliance.

The construction is composed of five apartments, four of these make up the main building, and is housed in an adjacent metato, are all made in grand style, with a attention to detail and finish, but in respect of local tradition and peasant, to create an effect of great charm. Wooden ceilings and stone floors, creating a warm and welcoming. Refinement also in furniture: antiques and modern come together to create a basic style, but of great charm, a superlative but rather a country vein. All apartments have private entrance, an open space for exclusive use, have a fireplace (or stove).

Setting

Located in the heart of the Pistoia Apennines, about 1000 m. altitude of, the residence, result of a painstaking restoration of a seventeenth-century plant ,one of the oldest examples of buildings of stone and wood of the mountain. Stands on a beautiful plateau, surrounded by forests and dotted with fruit trees, mostly apples.

With excellent exposure, the structure is dominated by the profile of beautiful mountains, with their picturesque ridges, to form a crown on all sides and provide a breathtaking view.
"Sasso al Melo" is immersed in nature, but not far from Cutigliano, a village considered "the pearl of the Pistoia mountains", is the most picturesque medieval village in the area.
The nearest location, close to the structure is anyway the small village of Melo, a quiet hamlet in the municipality, where you can buy basic necessities and a starting point for many excursions.
The residence is located also just a five minutes from Doganaccia, a splendid location on the border between Tuscany and Emilia. Situated in an idyllic setting. In winter the township is the ski area of the municipality, while the summer offers many opportunities, from hiking to mountain biking, from paragliding to fishing, from riding to many other attractions.
From "Sasso al Melo" then easily reached Abetone in about 15 minutes, surely the most famous ski resort in central Italy.

The offer of the area it ends with a full program of initiatives, festivals and events, organized throughout the year, which will contribute more to cheer your stay in this wonderful structure.
