Setting

Balestrate is a small seaside resort situated in the Gulf of Castellammare. The original nucleus of the country was the small church of s. Anna in 1900 became a parish, today the matrix, from where it spread to far and wide for the current site. The "Sicciara" (the place where you were catching cuttlefish, siccia, in Sicilian), as until 1819 was called Balestrate, arose in the 17th century around the tonnara of family Fardella.
