Villa for rent 15 km from the beach

Fantastic private family home with pool on outskirts of parbayon. Great for exploring santander and cantabrian region. Great hosts who take great care of this property

This is a great holiday villa for those looking to mix outdoor pursuits with relaxation. I agree with some of the previous comments that the second floor rooms are a little small for adults (height wise) but this is a minor point really. The pool is an excellent size and although not heated was used by my teenage sons several times every day with no issues re the temperature. The large supply of outdoor towels was much appreciated as were the many pool inflatables. The tennis court is an added bonus, and saw plenty of use. Rackets and balls are provided. There is plenty of additional garden room for other sports or sunbathing although there are quite a lot of statues etc in the garden so not ideal for full on games of football perhaps. Keen runners will find the combination of empty back-roads and beckoning hills irresistible! The covered terrace is a good spot for eating outdoors and though we didn't make use of the barbecue it was well stocked with all the usual tools. The leather settees in the living room were very comfortable although we didn't spend a lot of time indoors and the rocking chairs in the conservatory were an unusual touch. Parents of younger children should be aware that there are a quite a lot of fragile looking personal items inside the house which could fairly easily be broken although we managed not to do this and the owners don't ask for any security deposit so perhaps this isn't an issue. The kitchen is in galley style i.e. long and narrow but well enough equipped with electric hob & oven and microwave and fridge/freezer and enough crockery for 8 persons. The property is easy to find and only 15mins drive from Santander ferry port. A basic supermarket is within a 1km walk, a bigger one 5 minutes drive away in Renedo which has several restaurants. Note that this is a very un-touristy part of Spain (a good thing in our opinion) so it will help considerably if you have a smattering of Spanish

The villa is in a great location to explore the Cantabria region and the numerous beautiful beaches. The bedroom layout suited our group which consisted of 4 adults and 4 children. The two top floor bedrooms are small and one has a sloping ceiling - for families it was ideal but I don't think it would suit 8 adults. The pool area is fabulous and the outdoor covered terrace means that all meals can be eaten outside irrespective of the weather. The hosts leave the house well stocked with toilet rolls, towels, bin liners etc which some renters don't and is very welcome. The kitchen is small but functional. From here it is only a short drive to shops, beaches, the great safari park and Santander......if you can get the kids out of the pool.
