The accommodation

Le celle del Farinaio is a beautiful house, which was recently restored and it is situated only 6 km from the old Etruscan town of Cortona, and just 8 km from Lake Trasimeno.

The property, completely fenced, is' situated on a hill (350 meters), near a small church which dates originally back to Roman time and it is surrounded by woods. There is also a fabulous panoramic view over the vast and fertile Valdichiana. The church and the relative rectory are located on the adjacent property but they are closed and unused.

Setting

Le Celle del Farinaio are not far away from Terontola of Cortona. The village is served by several shops, including grocery, pharmacy, banks, bakeries, takeaway, handmade pasta, fruit and vegetable shops, bars and some clothing stores, supermarkets, restaurants / pizzerias.

The location is ideal for exploring, with short trips, the two regions of central Tuscany and of Umbria. Cortona is near the main line of the Highways like the A1 Highway and the freeway Siena-Perugia. Cities and Towns of particular interest such as Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Perugia, Assisi are located less than an hour's drive far away and other lesser known cities/towns, but not for this less interesting from a cultural or artistic value are reachable thanks to amazing daily excursions.

Big cities like Rome or Florence, can be easily reached by train, because the city of Cortona is served by two railway stations. Shops and supermarkets in the area are also open on Sunday morning. .
