It forms part of the Ordesa-Viñamala Biosphere Reserve. The higher part is dominated by the extreme aridity of the Karst deserts. And in the valleys, water is always present, leaping to form waterfalls and gorges covered by dense vegetation. The bearded vulture and the golden eagle are two outstanding examples of its local wildlife. Go hiking along the Las Escaleras or Cola de Caballo routes. And for the more daring among you, there is the ascent of the Monte Perdido or Lost Mountain, along its famous north-west corridor known as the Escupidera, where you can find snow well into the summer.
