The accommodation

First of all: please do make yourself at home.
To make the most of your stay, here are some instructions and advice:
Children must not use the spa unless they are supervised by an adult (we really don’t want them to have an accident!). It’s best to wash before using the spa and to rinse yourself off afterwards. Please remember the neighbours and avoid talking too loudly or shouting (people tend to speak more loudly because of the noise of the water 😉), and don’t use it between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Small children should not play on the stepladder or the walkway: we wouldn’t want them to have a fall.
When you leave: Please leave the beds unmade, but don’t remove the sheets.
Housecleaning equipment is available in the cupboard in the bedroom wall. The bucket is in the bathroom. Please also remember to empty the dishwasher.
We can lend you a barbecue. Please use it on the gravel, and not too close to the house.
Please don’t place hot dishes on the worktop, and clean it with a soft sponge.
Rubbish: there is no recycling collection, you have to take recyclable material to the recycling point on the far side of the abbey entrance.
If you would like to collect compostable material, put it in a bag and we can collect it to add to our compost.
Please place your bags of unrecyclable refuse in the container near the gate. The rubbish is collected every Wednesday (please put the container outside).
Please don’t throw anything in the WC, as this can prevent the sceptic tank from working correctly.
In this folder you will find a map of the surrounding area with walks starting from the house, a map of the region, and some brochures (don’t hesitate to add brochures for any visits that you enjoyed!)

-Heating (in winter): the heating is electric. Don’t hesitate to adjust it in line with the outside temperature, but also in line with the sunshine. If you need to open the windows, don’t forget to turn off the radiators.

Activities and attractions

Sites to see only a few minutes away:
- Bussière Abbey (gastronomic and “bistro” menus)
-the mediaeval village of Châteauneuf
-the château of Commarin
- Panthier reservoir: sailing, bathing, (also Grosbois reservoir, a bit further away)
-the gardens of the chateau at Barbirey-sur-Ouche
-some walks that we enjoyed: the ‘Grotte de Roche Chèvre’, in Barbirey-sur-Ouche; the rocks at Baume-la-Roche, ‘la Roche d’Anse’ (near Urcy), the ruined château of Marigny, above Saint-Victor-sur-Ouche.
-Places to eat out: ‘la ferme de Rolle’; ‘la Grasihade’ or ‘l’Auberge Gourmande’ in Velars-sur-Ouche; the restaurant at Chassagne golf course, ‘la Cave à Pizza’ in Gissey.
There is a pizza wagon on Thursday evenings in la Bussière, and HB Traiteur (home deliveries).
-A bit further away, don’t miss Dijon and Beaune, two beautiful towns.
Shopping
Bakery (and café!) in the village, together with a caterer who can deliver meals for you to reheat.
Sombernon: supermarkets, chemist, service stations, bakers, market on Saturday morning
Fleurey-sur-Ouche: supermarket, service station
Velars-sur-Ouche: supermarket, florist, bakers, etc.
Bligny-sur-Ouche: supermarkets, etc.
And of course in Pouilly-en-Auxois, Dijon, and Beaune (after your sightseeing!)
