Playa Blanca is a lively thriving fishing village. Besides the beaches, there are plenty of banks, supermarkets, pharmacies, doctors, hairdressers, shops, etc., restaurants, and bars abound. There is a local church where most services are offered on Sundays. You can also book island excursions, water taxis to Papagayo beaches, and take the ferry to Fuerteventura. Water sports are abundant, with plenty of options for diving, sailing, fishing, and snorkeling. The best surfing in Famara. Taxis are very common and inexpensive. There is a regular bus service that operates throughout Playa Blanca, as well as other services to island towns.
