The accommodation

Cozy chalet in stone and Sicilian bricks surrounded by a garden with big trees and many flowers, just 600 meters from the center of Milo, Etna National Park. The Cottage is located 15 minutes from the volcano Etna, a few km from the Rifugio Sapienza, Zafferana, Piano Provenzano, Linguaglossa. and close to the ski lifts and cable car continues. Most trips to the summit crater start at Nicolosi, a pretty village with many pizzerias, restaurants, shops is 18 km from Baita.
The house is on two floors with internal staircase, 4 beds, consists of an entrance room with central heating, double sofa bed and dining table, a fully equipped kitchen, the bathroom has a bidet, toilet and shower. Upstairs a room with panoramic views of the Ionian coast and Taormina, double bed, fireplace, TV and is equipped with every comfort. Outside a large living area with barbecue, many tables and various seating areas. Also, having a large parking lot, Baita is certainly also the perfect setting for those wishing to spend a holiday experience, engaging and romantic!
Our only interest is to make possible the stay of our guests very kind peaceful, exciting and amazing.
The Baita is just 600 meters from Milo, mountain village with an agricultural vocation, tourism, wild. The height above sea level is about 800 m, then winter is often covered by snow and summer stays fresh.

Setting

Milo is one of the starting points more favorable for visiting Mount Etna. Apart from Milo Mareneve rising fast up to the north-east of the volcano: Piano Provenzano. Along this road there is easy to visit the Cave of Thieves, which is about the only cave of all Etna accessible without having to follow paths difficult and inaccessible and therefore suitable to be visited by anyone. Only care right shoes, a flashlight and a little 'sense of adventure.

Activities and attractions

Always Mareneve allows you to travel a stretch of road on the lava flow of 2002 which was recently paved. Once in Piano Provenzano you can just stay and enjoy a landscape almost entirely lava or you can take the jeep-bus that will take you to a height of 2800m through the astrophysical observatory. There the landscape is unique, lunar. The vegetation disappears entirely, the air is pungent and windy even in August but above all you are very close to the central mouth of an active volcano! A unique feeling.
At Piano Provenzano is a restaurant and several small wooden houses where you can buy food and souvenirs immersed in a lunar environment. You can then choose to stretch a bit 'the way back and go to Linguaglossa where you can buy sausage and meat jelly in the famous shops of meat.
The alternative is to Mareneve move to the south side of the volcano. Overcoming Zafferana follow the signs for Etna-south and you come to the base point Rifugio Sapienza. From here you can choose the cable car or the jeep up to the Philosopher Tower will be one of the most unique experiences of your life.
