The accommodation

A few steps from the Two Towers, 10 minutes walk from the station and 10 minutes from the Fair, 80 sqm apartment on two levels, generously equipped and with high-level PERSONALIZED WELCOME. Wi-Fi and Netfix included. Two bathrooms with shower and bathtub, kitchen with appliances and accessories, living room with vaulted ceiling and fan, air conditioning, independent heating, large double bedroom. 5 sleeps. Excellent acoustics, perfect for opera singers. Late check-out.

The pantry is never empty, so is the fridge!
Forget the uniformity of a hotel or a standard pieces furniture. "Bijou House" is an apartment of 80 square meters on two levels, located on the first floor of a historic building in the very heart of Bologna, which emanates character and envelops guests in a warm, welcoming and suggestive atmosphere. At the first level are the entrance, the large and very high living area with vaulted ceiling, the opened kitchen with peninsula table and the bathroom with tub and washing machine.
In the living room the three-seat sofa becomes a double sofa-bed with NEW mattress, plus there’s a single couch-bed with soft foam mattress. The luminous wooden staircase leads downstairs to the sleeping area, where there is a large bedroom with a king-size bed, a second bathroom with a large shower and window and a small dressing. The apartment is entirely covered in parquet, well finished and furnished with vintage ethnic furniture and design pieces. Security door, video telecom screen, hi-fi system on both levels, home theater in the bedroom, free wi-fi without limits, ventilation system, air conditioning and indipendent heating system. It is the perfect stay for those who want to enjoy the city only for a few nights, or for longer periods, as it is equipped with all the comforts of a home in which truly living, without ever having to adapt. Thanks to the vaulted ceiling, it enjoys excellent acoustics, much appreciated by the artists who perform at the Teatro Comunale, which is only a few meters away.
But it is also perfect for businessman or woman, families with children (not babies, because of the staircase) and for romantic stays.
The area is full of coffee bar, restaurants, “osterias”, “trattorias” supermarkets and right next to the entrance of the building there is an excellent coffee and drink bar.
Each guest will have a personalized booklet with the best places in the area and many other useful information.

The building has a double entrance, to reach the surrounding areas even more easier.

The trophies
As evidenced by the pictures, in the living room there are hunting trophies. They are hunted in Africa almost thirty years ago, by a family member, very dear to me, and a friend of the great Ernest Hemingway. The trophies, hunted in compliance with the rules of the place, represent for me a very strong emotional bond, though I am against hunting. I know that remove them will offer me more opportunities to rent the apartment, but I find that it would be a lack of respect for a person for whom I felt deep affection. I hope that people can try to understand that my point of view.

The apartment is plenty of accessories : from basic appliances (dishwashes, clothes machine, electric oven, microwave oven), small appliances (coffee machine, mincer, toaster, ketle, juicer, etc.) as each tool for the kitchen and complete the household linen.

For more than a week staying, guests will receive a change of bed linen and towels with no more cost. The bathrooms are equipped with both a shower (the one in the bedroom) and a tub (the one on the upper floor).

I believe that receiving is an art that requires taste and empathy. I love to customize the welcome depending on the host that will come. I'm glad to know in advance their tastes in food and drink, if they have any allergy, or following specific diets. Guests will find the house always sparkling clean and sanitized, warm and comfortable.

After sanitizing the environment, each surface is buffing with the precious BLUARIA detergents, completely natural and free of phosphates, formaldehyde, parabens, EDTA, PEG, triclosan, optical brighteners, bleach, phenoxyethanol, isothiazolinone chlorine, to reduce the risk of allergies.

I have great care in offering wide availability of pillows to bed, so as to meet every need. On the table, a welcome "made in Italy" and in the fridge and pantry not miss Italian and english breakfast. The two bathrooms, one with a large shower, the other with tub, will be set up with everything needed: from towels and bathrobes, to shower gel; by hairdryers to body lotions. Guests will find a personalized booklet with favourite restaurants, markets, places not to miss and many other useful information. In the apartment, also maps of the city and folders about the proposals for entertainment and culture.
I will be available for guests AT ANY TIME and for ANY NEED: booking taxis in advance, booking restaurants, recommend shops ... In addition, I will be available via Whatsapp with videos, maps, information on events and every other need of the guests.

Access is particularly safe: there is a front door access from the street which requires a key to open, and has a camera and speaker so you can see who is there before buzzing them into the door. There is then the main door of the apartment which is a security door and has 3 locks on it.

It's not necessary to take hairdryer: you'll find two! The ladies will find also shower slippers and, special hair towel and PURE SILK beauty pillowcase.

Setting

"Bijou House" is surrounded by restaurants, taverns and summer markets, shops and supermarkets. It's really all at your fingertips. Right below the house there is a delicious coffe shop for breakfast. In the summer, just a few meters away, the so-called "jazz lounge" is set outdoors, and often the Municipal Theater organizes free concerts in the foyer. The quaint neighborhood of the former Jewish "ghetto" is just a few meters away, as well as the "Two Towers". Piazza Maggiore is just 500 meters away. The area also lends itself to any kind of shopping: from the luxury and designer shop of Galleria Cavour, via Farini and via D'Azeglio to the most popular (Zara, H & M, Zara Home, etc.) Culinary delights of the "Mercato di Mezzo", taste of colors and flavors, to the gastronomic / cultural Eataly.

N.B. - For gourmets!
In Bologna recently opened "Fourghetti", the restaurant of the starred chef Bruno Barbieri (Mastechef), while in Modena there's the BEST RESTAURANT OF THE WORLD, "Osteria Francescana" by Massimo Bottura. I suggest interested guests to book as soon as possible. I am at your disposal to provide more detailed information about it.

Activities and attractions

The location allows to reach the most important areas and features and major tourist attractions with a short walk. The train station can be reached on foot in 15 minutes or by bus in 5 minutes. The Fair Center can be reached on foot in twenty minutes, or in five minutes by several buses, whose stops are located in the streets adjacent to the accommodation. Under the house passes the "Linea C", a small bus linking the whole old town centre, and this to the Station. At 50 meters there is a toll parking, which makes convenient prices for "Bijou House" guests.
Bologna is the perfect city to visit the main cities of north-central Italy: Florence is 35 minutes by train; Modena at 20 '; Ferrara at 30 '; Ravenna 1h and 15 minutes; Venice 1h and 25 minutes; Milan 1 hour.
