The accommodation

The OPO.APT – Oporto Apartments is located in Oporto’s center. It’s in the urban circuit between Oporto’s Downtown (“Baixa”), the old city center, and Boavista, the modern business center and hotel area. It consists in two apartments composed by two bedrooms, living room, open kitchen to the dining room, and a bathroom with shower. One of the apartments is placed on the ground floor of the building and integrates a gardened backyard with trees and outdoor furniture.

The OPO.APT – Oporto Apartments is a charming modernist building from 1936. The building is a noticeable example of the architecture Deco of the 30’s. This residence complex is the result of a restoration project at the year 2012, which recovered the exterior facades of the building and converted the interior spaces into practical and cozy holiday apartments.

The apartment placed on the ground floor of the building integrates a gardened backyard with trees and outdoor furniture, two bedrooms with two single beds each, living room with double sofa bed and TV, open kitchen to the dining room, and a bathroom with shower. The maximum capacity is for 6 persons, and we provide you Internet (cable and Wi-Fi), air conditioning, heating, bed linen, towels, and a weekly cleaning.

Setting

The OPO.APT – Oporto Apartments is located in the emerging Cedofeita´s area in Oporto’s center. It’s in the urban circuit between Oporto’s Downtown (“Baixa”), the old city center, and Boavista, the modern business center and hotel area Although it’s placed in a central area of the city the nearby surroundings are quiet, and the outdoor spaces are large and wooded. The mobility is ensured by a good network of public transport (metro and buses). The closest metro station is Carolina Michaelis (two minutes walking), with a direct line to the airport (line E, 20 min), with several direct lines to Campanhã train Station (line A, B, C, E) and to São Bento train Station (line D, with transfer at Trindade Station).

From airport – At Aeroporto Internacional Francisco Sá Carneiro take the metro line E, it’s direct and takes 20 minutes to reach the Carolina Michaelis station, which is 2 minutes walking from opo.apt.

By bus – Bus Stop Igreja Cedofeita, which is 1 minute walking from opo.apt.
day lines: 202 from Castelo do Queijo to Largo dos Lóios; 301 circular Sá da Bandeira – Hospital de São João; 502 from Mercado de Matosinhos to Mercado do Bolhão; 602 from Aeroporto to Cordoaria; night line: 3M from Aeroporto to Avenida dos Aliados (between 1 o’clock till 5 o’clock a.m.)

By car – From South: Enter in the city by Arrábida´s bridge; turn right to Via Panorâmica towards Rua do Campo Alegre; Continue along Rua de Gonçalo Sampaio; Continue along Praça do Bom Sucesso; Continue along Largo de Ferreira Lapa; Turn left; Then immediately, turn left to Rua de Júlio Dinis; Turn right to Praça de Mousinho De Albuquerque; Turn right to Rua da Nossa Senhora de Fátima; Turn right to Rua de Oliveira Monteiro; Turn right to Rua de Augusto Luso; Turn right to Praça De Pedro Nunes.

From North: Enter in the city by Avenida da Associação Industrial Portuense towards Boavista/ Bessa; Continue along to Avenida de Sidónio Pais; Continue along to Rua 5 De Outubro; Turn right to Praça De Mousinho De Albuquerque; Turn right to Rua da Nossa Senhora de Fátima; Turn right to Rua de Oliveira Monteiro; Turn right to Rua de Augusto Luso; Turn right to Praça De Pedro Nunes.

By taxi – Taxi services are available at the airport. Just for your own reference, travelling from the airport to the city centre by taxi costs an average of 22.00 EUR. Luggage over 55x36x20cm has to be carried in the boot - therefore an additional 1.50 EUR can be charged. Transporte of cradles, baby carriages and wheelchairs is free of charge. Prices charged per trip are the same, regardless of carrying 1, 2, 3 or 4 passengers.

Activities and attractions

The area is surrounded by important buildings like the historical Cedofeita’s Romanic church (1 min. walking), and the concert hall, recently built, Casa da Música (5 min. walking). To visit Clérigo’s Tower or Aliados Avenue in “Baixa”, you can go with the metro (2 min.), with the bus (lines 202 or 602, 10min.) or you can go walking (20min.). The Oporto’s University Pole 1 (Rector Ship, Faculty of Pharmacy, Biomedical or Law) and Pole 2 (Faculty of Letters, Architecture or Science) are within walking distance of 15 min. or 5 min. with the bus. The art district of Miguel Bombarda street, full of art galleries and shops of young creator’s, is 10 min. walking, and the Palácio de Cristal gardens, with incredible views over the river’s waterfront, is 15 min. walking.
