Setting

The Sibaritide is a flat geographical area overlooking the upper Ionian Sea in the province of Cosenza. The name originates from the ancient city of Sybaris, one of the earliest cities of Magna Graecia in Calabria. The city, founded by the Achaeans, was known for the wealth and luxurious lifestyle of its inhabitants. It is the largest plain in Calabria, facing the Ionian Sea and flanked by two national parks: the Sila and the Pollino.
