Due to the privileged location of our apartament in the historic centre, we do not offer on-site parking. However, we have thought of everything to make your stay convenient.

Access to our cosy apartament is as uncomplicated as your stay will be pleasant. When you arrive at the building, the central door takes you to the start of a memorable experience.

Options: lift or stairs:
For your convenience, we have a lift that you can use whenever you need it. If you prefer, stairs are also available, providing you with a peaceful ascent to the second floor.

Activities and attractions

Heading left from Largo de Donães, we come to Rua Egas Moniz. It was once called Rua Nova do Muro or simply Rua Nova, and that's how the locals know it. It is one of the streets in the historic centre that best retains its authenticity. On one side, the houses follow the back of the old wall, some of them medieval in style.
In the middle of the street we find a symbol of popular religiosity. It's the Oratory of the Lord of the Forsaken, dedicated to Christ Crucified, built by the locals in 1712 and still proudly cared for today. Further along, on the left, you'll find Casa da Rua Nova. It's a three-storey house from the 17th-18th centuries, renovated to a design by architect Fernando Távora in the 1980s and which fully respects the traditional construction techniques of Guimarães' historic centre. It was awarded the "Europa Nostra" Prize in 1985, as evidenced by the plaque next to the entrance door, becoming a model and symbolic landmark for the entire policy of intervention in the historic centre that followed for more than a decade.
Since then, the Local Technical Office has worked here, responsible at a technical level for the rehabilitation of the historic centre, culminating in its application to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which it achieved in December 2001.
